• Considering how Yuya’s main character goal revolved around chasing after his dad’s footsteps, it was weird to see Yusho (and Yuya) gloss over Akaba Leo’s revelation in S3 (that Yusho’s memories of Yuya as his son were fake)
• This is the first Arc-V comic I made… drawing Yuya and Yusho was quite the struggle, and required quite a bit of character study to pen them down
• I wanted the comic to look cheerful and childlike, so the characters were painted in a lot of candy colors… as such, Yuya looks less like a tomato than usual (?
• Yuya’s final page 4 expressions required a ref. I made the faces in the mirror myself, and boy it was hard AHHAHA
• The first iteration of page 4 (see left below) did not have Yuya crying. During the edits, I realized that his original reaction did not feel genuine, so the panels were added later on

• The first draft of the script was much longer, and required a LOT of cuts… man it’s actually very easy to overwrite a comic script
• Yuya looks more on-model in my later works, but he’s actually pretty cute on here IMO
