Collection of drawings, sketches and artist ramblings
One of the rare fanart illustrations where I drew freely with a (relatively) personal style instead of aiming for the ‘canon’ stylization. A lot of the stylistic choices carried over to the comic I was working on during that time (One Heart, Two Worlds), in particular the looser lines and stronger emphasis on light.
This was meant to be a 4-part illustration set featuring Yuzu, Ruri, Rin and Serena, but up to the time of writing, I still couldn’t find the free time to draw them all…

Doodled this after a very tiring day at work. I find Ruri’s pre-war yellow dress to be very cute, and strive to draw it whenever possible… the contrast between this idyllic dress and her post-war battered attire is very striking too.
Same goes to Yuto, I swear these two are literally protagonists of another story.
Yuzu says cheese! Drew this to practice foreshortening hand poses (hands that stretch out close to the camera), which is a staple of the Yu-Gi-Oh art style
This sketch ended up as my first drawing to be shared on X as the ‘welcome’ post, and I really like it to this day
Getting Yuya and Yuto to look similar was difficult. Their faces don’t exactly align with each other’s, even with the same eye shape… later on, it turns out that getting Yuri to look similar to his counterparts is even more of a nightmare (laugh)
This was one of the very first fanart of Yuya/ Yuto that I did, and I remember being very proud of how they finally looked (somewhat) on-model after sketching and resketching (and resketching) for so many times
